Data recovery - what we can do

No data, no fee!

About us

DISKDOCTOR is an expert in data recovery based on Prague.

We save lost data from variously damaged disks and data media. Especially hard drives and RAID arrays, SSDs and flash memory, memory cards, etc. We have a lot of experience in data recovery thanks to our narrow specialization in data recovery.

We provide our customers with professional and qualified support to maximize your chances of saving your valuable data. Our effort is to provide the best data recovery services at a reasonable price.

HDD / SSHD data recovery

DISKDOCTOR recovers deleted data from working drives and damaged ones no matter if that are plain old HDD's (hard disk drive) or newer SSHD's (solid state hybrid drive) often also called hybrid- or fusion-drive!

We deal with data recovery from 1,8", 2,5" and 3,5" drives and all kind of connectors as ATA, SATA, USB and SAS!

We offer you fast and efficient data recovery from damaged, failing and properly working hard drives - regardless of manufacturer. Thanks to our fully equipped laboratory we meet technical requirements that are necessary to fulfill the job properly.

We can help You with such issues as:

  • Logical problems due incorrect operation of the software, power interruptions, accidental data delete or viruses
  • Physical problems due to a droped drive
  • Disk read/write head failure
  • Power surge electronic damage
  • Failed PCB (printed circuit board)
  • Corrupt MBR (Master Boot Record)
  • Corrupt partition table or filesystem
  • Damaged interface, such as USB or SATA connector
  • Failed fuse, capacitor, resistor, voltage regulator or cache memory
  • Bad motor controller

SSD data recovery

Solid state drives, short SSD's, are hard drives that use e.g. NAND memory instead of platters. Thanks to that those drives are much faster and not that fragile. But as it goes with flash memory they are less durable. Actually in the SSD-market are a lot of producers at the moment and many new manufacurers which enter the hard drive market. That can make data recovery from SSD's a much more complex process.

Here we can handle all connectors as M2 (NVME as well as SATA) and the classical L-shaped SATA-connector of 2,5" drives as well es the proprietary Apple-connectors.

Flashdrive, memory-card and phone data recovery

All of this devices contain memory-chips. Most common error occurs when a device can’t finnish saving last information in memory before getting unplugged or bevore the battery runs out of energy. Often in those cases when drive is plugged in a PC the system shows that it needs to format the drive.

Second type of damage we deal with are all kinds of electronic elements and PCB failures. Some of those cases are easy to fix when all we need to do is to find a broken pad, capacitor or resistor.

In case of survear physical damage we can desolder the memory components and read the raw-data out of it with spezialized equipment and reconstruct then the logical structure with spezialized software.

In case of phones some spezialized tools and techniques allow us to read the data when the phone still works but the display is broken even without getting a display-replacement.

We can deal with Apple-, Android and even Windows-phones!

NAS & RAID data recovery

RAID stands for redundant array of independent disks and there are various so called RAID-levels to combine multiple drives into one. Hereby can the used RAID-level increase the performance and/or make the array able to loose one or even two drives without loosing data. Thats why many people think a NAS-box (netwark attached storage) or a small fileserver with an RAID make traditional backups obsolete.

But that is very far from true - an electric failure can fry all drives of the array and a failure of the RAID-controller or a human error can make all data unaccessable, destroy the filesystem metadata or corrupt files. Many RAID-levels spread the data even over the drives to increase read- and writing speeds. Thatfor is almost every file in such a case split into parts that multiple disks can hold a part of it and handle reading or writing in paralell.

Afer a dissaster you often end with parts of files which each one alone for itself can't be used. That makes a RAID-recovery quite complicated - you will often need to "puzzle" all parts of the files together to finally get useable data again.

We can deal with all common and even some less common RAID-levels such as 0, 1, 1E, 2, 4, 5, 5E, 5EE, 6, 10 and JBOD.

Remote data recovery

In some cases it's not necessary to send drives to us. Some tasks we can also handle via a remote Session.

CAUTION: Never download or install tools on the patient PC! Shut the PC with the lost data down and prepare use another PC to create a bootable DVD or USB-Pendrive with our DDRT-Livesystem. You can download our Livesystem from Sourceforge:

Download DISK DOCTOR recovery toolkit

To create a bootable USB-drive use balenaEtcher. In case you want to burn the image you can use ImgBurn on Windows, wodim on Linux and on Mac select the image-file in Finder and click on File -> Burn image ... to disc. After you have created a bootable DVD or Pendrive you can boot the Patient-PC from that media.

Afer you grant us access to that livesystem we are able to work on the case remotely.
